About Me
Jermaine “JT” Bethea is a live events producer, audiovisual operations leader, sound engineer, broadcaster, and creative storyteller whose work is shaped by hip-hop, emo and alternative rock, R&B, and Broadway. A New Jersey native, JT’s early years were rooted in performance and community.
As a child, developing a lasting connection to theatre, music, and the power of shared creative experiences. By age six, he was already remixing songs in his bedroom. Today, he produces live events and broadcasts, mixes sound for theatrical and musical productions, supervises audiovisual teams, and transforms creative concepts into organized, audience-centered experiences. A graduate of Montclair State University’s Film & Television program, JT has developed a multidisciplinary career spanning radio, television, theatre, hospitality AV, branded activations, nonprofit leadership, and community event production.
At Montclair State’s award-winning 90.3 WMSC, JT oversaw station programming and supported a community of hundreds of on-air personalities. He trained and mentored over 100 new DJs, produced live and recorded programming, coordinated talent, and helped lead major initiatives including a seven-day continuous anniversary broadcast. His work contributed to nationally recognized student media programming and strengthened his leadership style, which is centered on preparation, accountability, collaboration, and creative empowerment.
JT’s professional career has since evolved into live-event and audiovisual operations leadership. As an Event Services Supervisor and Lead AV Technician with Pinnacle Live, he coordinates event setups and strikes, supervises internal and contract labor, supports client communication, manages production documentation, and helps execute corporate and hospitality events across multiple meeting rooms and ballroom environments. His work requires him to balance technical precision, crew leadership, safety, inventory control, shifting timelines, and real-time problem-solving while maintaining a polished guest and client experience.
His additional experience includes providing audiovisual support for high-profile seminars and events at NYU School of Law, working as a board operator for FOX Sports Radio New Jersey, and supporting promotional activations for Beasley Media Group stations including WDHA, WMTR, and WMGQ. He has also worked in broadcast media operations, wedding entertainment, live theatre, and musical productions—operating sound, managing microphones, supporting performers, and helping productions move smoothly from rehearsal through performance. Across these environments, his work has supported prominent speakers, public figures, industry professionals, performers, and VIP audiences.
Beyond his technical and operational work, JT is an experienced host and emcee who has brought energy and structure to Sweet 16s, showcases, talent events, and community-centered programs. He is also the Co-Founder of the Golden Fleece Collective, a New Jersey–based arts nonprofit built around the mission, “Where no one creates alone.” Through the Collective, JT leads the development of showcases, open mics, networking experiences, and artist-centered events—overseeing venue research, production logistics, budgets, staffing, vendor coordination, audience flow, partnerships, and day-of execution.
Creativity fuels every move JT makes. He sees it not simply as a passion, but as a way of building memory, mood, meaning, and connection. His mission is to design immersive experiences that amplify emerging voices, strengthen creative communities, and give artists and audiences the freedom to connect authentically. Whether he is behind a console, producing an event, mentoring a team, hosting a room, or leading operations, JT is committed to turning ambitious ideas into organized, resonant, and distinctly human experiences.
