Jermaine “JT” Bethea is a storyteller, sound engineer, operations leader, and creative force whose soundtrack is shaped by hip-hop, emo rock, R&B, and Broadway. A New Jersey native, JT’s early years were rooted in performance and community, spending three formative years at Encore Performing Arts Center and immersing himself in theater and Broadway culture. Music isn’t just part of his life—it’s the heartbeat of his creative journey, fueling a lifelong passion for storytelling, atmosphere, and human connection.

By age six, JT was already remixing songs in his bedroom. Today, he produces live broadcasts, mixes sound for live theatre and musical productions, manages complex event operations, and brings communities together through immersive artistic experiences. A proud graduate of Montclair State University’s Film & Television program, JT has mastered storytelling across radio, television, live performance, and event production—combining technical precision with a bold, narrative-driven approach rooted in diverse musical and theatrical influences.

As Associate Program Director of Montclair State’s award-winning 90.3 WMSC, JT led ambitious initiatives including a week-long anniversary broadcast celebrating nearly six decades of student-led storytelling. He trained and mentored over 100 new DJs, guided emerging voices, and produced Happy Holidays, Upper Montclair, a mixtape blending holiday classics with original work to capture the station’s spirit. His leadership style centers on collaboration, clarity, and creative empowerment.

Professionally, JT’s career has evolved into operations management within the live events industry. As an Operations Manager and Supervisor with Pinnacle Live, he oversees large-scale audiovisual systems, crew coordination, and show execution for high-profile corporate and hospitality events. His technical background also includes sound technician work for live theatre and musical productions, AV support for NYU Law, broadcast media operations at Montclair State University, and DJ roadie and assistant work for POSH DJs’ wedding entertainment. His expertise has supported events featuring celebrities, political leaders, and VIP audiences.

Beyond the console and control room, JT is a seasoned host and emcee, lending his voice and presence to Sweet 16s, live showcases, and community-driven events. He is also the co-founder of the Golden Fleece Collective, a creative community built to provide artists with space, support, and visibility.
